Cartons of milk are a commodity in most UK households, however, most disregard these and throw them away.

Milk bottle tops can be broken down and turned into pellets to be used in the production of other items such as traffic cones as long as they are responsibly cleaned and separated.

A charity called The Friends of Water Search and Rescue Team who support communities in the UK with flooding and water rescue accept donations of clean milk bottle tops to be taken to a recycling centre. The recycling firm weighs the milk bottle tops that are donated, and for a given weight make a donation to the charity.

This contractor have started a milk bottle tops collection across the company with collection boxes in office and across their building sites to support the charity, and recycle a useful material.
