Mobile phones have revolutionised the construction industry in many ways with incidents being quickly communicated, logistics and management becoming more efficient, and snagging being done in situ.

However, now that phones have become commonplace on construction sites around the world, they are one more item that can cause damage when dropped from height.

As well as presenting a danger to personnel on the ground or lower levels, there are also the financial implications to the company in replacing countless amounts of dropped or damaged phones.

To overcome this new found issue, Canary Wharf Contractors (CWCL) bought a sample of myBunjee phone tethers and distributed them among the construction team members.

Following a hugely successful trial in which the rate of incidents and phone replacements dropped significantly, as well as the reduced threat of objects falling from height, CWCL have ordered close to 1,000 of the tethers to distribute among remaining CWCL staff and all trade contractors onsite.
