Monitoring energy usage

On one of our sites, each electrical item has the energy usage in kwh along with the running cost in ££ per month displayed on the front of it.

The aim of this is to encourage switching off these appliances when they are not in use for long periods of time such at weekends, Christmas shutdowns or when personnel numbers have diminished.

This reduced energy consumption, demonstrating a committed attitude to sustainable construction as well as benefiting the company with cost savings.

Now we have collected our first full month of usage data; we are also promoting an energy reduction initiative and will reward the workforce should our energy usage decrease in the next month.

These types of incentives help support a more sustainable orientated attitude on site, promoting the benefits for the future.
