My Lightning Tracker App
The My Lightning Tracker app is used for monitoring lightning strikes all around the world in close to real-time, providing notifications whenever strikes are detected in the area.
In construction when challenging weather conditions are mentioned, there is typically a focus on heavy rain and strong winds impacting lifting operations. The potential dangers of lightning strikes are often overlooked.
The lifting team on site from Crane Operators, Signal Slingers and Lift Supervisors use the app to track if any lightning is approaching and can stop lifting prior to lightning arriving, this has been incorporated into the site lift plan.
