This contractor is sponsoring the Blue Marine Foundation through Green the UK (Green the UK support wildlife projects delivering measurable local impact) to restore 200 square metres of native oysters into The Solent.

The contractor is working on the Southsea sea defences directly on The Solent and native oysters disappeared from this part of the ocean years ago from over fishing.

Successful restoration of the oysters will come with many local environmental benefits including improving the water quality and increasing biodiversity.
