Neighbourhood privacy and sensitivity

The location of the construction project will determine the level of sensitivity required.

Particular consideration should be given to the nearest residents, businesses and the neighbouring surroundings that will be affected by your site.

Examples that have already been put into place include:

  • The security CCTV system was designed and installed to avoid any possibility of intruding on neighbours’ privacy;
  • Additional screening was included around boundaries and scaffolds to alleviate privacy concerns;
  • In a highly sensitive location, (for example, adjacent to a cemetery entrance), constructors adapted standard corporate hoardings and repainted them in a quieter, more restrained colour.
