Using Smartphone Technology to Help Manage Site Health and Safety

Due to the dangerous nature of construction sites it is important to demonstrate that you are working safely, to protect the wellbeing of operatives, visitors and the general public.

A mobile technology called Geo-Sight has been developed to assist with the management of construction site health and safety by:

  • Enabling workers to record live images on their phones, the app then digitally tags the images to a location and time, before being sent to a central database for company records;
  • Work can be tracked and monitored as it happens in real time;
  • Detailed and location-specific records can be captured to document the progress of the project;
  • Proof of compliance can be provided to ensure workforce safety and productivity;
  • Real time inspections of sites can take place from a remote location.

This new smartphone app provides an effective way to measure employee performance while also ensuring contractors are adhering to health and safety requirements.
