NFC Tags Used For Sharing Careers and Community information

The project team have recently adopted the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) ‘smart’ tags to share further information with the community in regards to works on site and career opportunities.

NFC is a wireless technology which allows for the transfer of data such as text or numbers between two NFC enabled devices. NFC tags, (in this instance) are stickers which contain small microchips with micro antennas, which can store a small amount of information for transfer to another NFC device, such as a mobile phone. When scanned with a mobile phone with NFC enabled, a link opens up taking you to the preset web address which is set to the Willmott Dixon careers website and the Considerate Constructors Scheme web page.

At the Ripon Leisure Centre project we are actively looking at adopting the use of NFC through other avenues on site; such as linking to Technical and Quality Documentation, British Standards as well as Health, Safety & Environmental areas which will help us to achieve an improved journey with the community, workforce and end result for our Customers.
