Non Conducting Material Levelling Staffs

We understand the risks associated with working under or near overhead electric power lines.

While the risk of this is often well controlled whilst major construction works are ongoing through signs and goalposts for example, we were keen to reduce the associated risk with other less intense and often transient work such as surveying ahead of construction works.

We therefore took the decision to remove all our old metal leveling staffs from daily use and replace them with non-conducting fibreglass material leveling staffs to reduce the risk for our workforce and improve safety when carrying out survey during works, or whilst mobilising or designing works.

This eliminates the risk of a leveling staff inadvertently coming into contact with an overhead electric power line and conducting the electricity to harm the operator.
