Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Awareness Training

This contractor has partnered with ‘Everymind at Work’ and enlisted the help of their head psychologist to deliver a series of training sessions to reach the whole supply chain. This training delved into the complexities of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), shedding light on what it is, its manifestations, how it effects the lives of individuals and how to manage it.

They produced a voting poll on site to find out which mental health disorders those on site had the least awareness of and would be interested in gaining knowledge on. OCD was one of the top scoring answers from the survey which is why they organised these sessions. After the training they had a lot of positive feedback from the workforce. They felt more confident in recognising the symptoms and how to be more supportive of people who are affected.

Typically, workforce training courses are selected by the principal contractor or enforced by their supervisors. Involving the workforce in that decision means they are more likely to be engaged in the sessions.
