Offering a free and confidential helpline to support the needs of the workforce

Appropriate measures should be implemented to effectively support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of your workforce.

A platform to enable staff to voice their concerns and problems should be provided, to ensure employees feel valued and supported.

Below is an example of how sites can implement measures to support their workforce:

  • The company had its own free helpline to support the workforce;
  • It was confidential, the site manager was only informed of the number of calls;
  • All issues were deemed relevant including, financial and legal concerns.

Such a measure helped to alleviate stress that individuals may face either at home or work, helping to support and secure the wellbeing of operatives.
