Offering Logs to Local Residents

Faced with a site that had been felled of the overgrown trees, the site manager used local advertising to draw attention to the fact he had free logs available for local residents.

Posts were made on sites including Gumtree and Ebay and the Twitter feed of the Challenger Group was used to again advertise tagging in local news sources. The external notice board on hoarding of site was also used to draw attention to the free service.

A succession of local residents collected the cut logs and were loaded up by the contractor. Successive posts showing logs being loaded into trailers and transit vans drew further local residents to collect free logs.
