Offering Work Placements for Women into Construction Members

As part of a greater effort to introduce new talent into the industry, Crossrail Paddington offered short term work placements and CV Workshops to members of Women into Construction (WiC), giving them the opportunity to develop their skills and gain further project experience.

  • Aliona supported the commercial team as an assistant to help produce subcontract agreement for various work packages;
  • Ghaida supported the MEP team on lifts and escalators, and the design work packages;
  • Zakiyah is a university student who is working on the project as a planning assistant to gain more experience;
  • Beletsh worked with our site engineers in managing the steelwork.

Wai-Keat Ngai, CSJV Social Sustainability and Community Relations Manager said:

“We are happy to offer work placements and CV workshops to WiC members. We hope this will give them the opportunity to gain more skills and experience. Their contribution to the project has been positively acknowledged, and we continue to look forward to making a positive difference with WiC moving forwards.”
