On site VP Hire Station Facility

On the Royal Albert Dock project we have a Hire Station based on site which delivers to Multiplex an ‘on site facility’ for the duration of our construction build. The office provides all primary and secondary subcontractors with a single onsite facility where suppliers can go to place orders, collect, return and exchange equipment or to replenish consumable accessories. In addition to the shop cabin we also have an assigned training centre which they use for delivery of courses pertinent to Multiplex.

The purpose of the onsite facility covers all the below:

  • Product advice
  • Receiving equipment orders
  • Coordinating deliveries and returns
  • Exchanging any damaged items
  • Facilitating the purchase of consumables (drill bits, discs etc.) and branded PPE
  • Central management of training matrix outlining a brief range of training courses we offer such as IPAF training and PASMA courses.

In order to deliver full compliance and reduce incorrect equipment use on site the Hire Station engages with suppliers to identify areas of concern in processes and to raise awareness of safe ways of working across the Royal Albert dock project. We have a pro-active focus on safety and employ two Sector Support Managers who provide tailored on site demonstrations to Multiplex and subcontractors when they hire any equipment.
