Operatives Foodbank

On our current project we have taken it upon ourselves to supply our workforce with an ’emergency food bank’ type facility.

We have purchased a number of items from a local supermarket such as pasta, rice, soup etc. which are stored in the site offices. We have placed posters around the welfare facilities which inform the workforce should they have come to work this morning without any lunch or money (generally by accident – possibly rushing out of the house early to get to beat the traffic) they are welcome to take items from our supply. The only thing we ask is that, when they return the day after, they restock with a similar item for the next person.

The main focus of this initiative is ensuring our workforce are kept hydrated and fed, many operatives will go without their lunch as they are ‘too proud’ to ask for help. We want to breakdown this barrier and demonstrate that in order for Caddick to succeed we need to ensure we look after our workforce and they know they are an integral part of the team.
