Operatives suggestion box

Many sites have installed operatives suggestion boxes, to collect feedback from the workforce.

The suggestion box is a small letter box that can be installed in the welfare offices, that allows operatives to submit suggestions and comments about the site. The suggestion boxes used on Bouygues sites, also include a questionnaire about the site and welfare offices.

Padlocks can be used to ensure that operatives privacy is maintained.

The origin of the suggestions/questionnaire can be anonymous or named. However, as a prize, a free lunch can be provided to any individual whose suggestion is put into practice.

Benefits include:

  • A suggestion box allows operatives to make suggestions to management about possible improvements to the site or welfare office;
  • Additionally, the questionnaire allows feedback to be obtained, which can be used as an indicator as to the site’s performance from the operatives point of view;
  • A reward scheme in place is likely to encourage operatives to participate.
