Perimeter Access Buggy

There has been a big effort in planning how to safely access the perimeter of the roof to allow façade installation to continue. After multiple workshops/design development, a purpose developed ‘buggy’ was bought to site.

The temporary works approved buggy, fits on the permanent BMU track and allows two operatives to work on the building perimeter within a fully handrailed platform. This removes the need for personal fall prevention (harnesses) as the primary fall protection. A harness point is still provided alongside points to tether tools/materials.

In addition to this, it is easily manoeuvred along the track to allow full access to the whole elevation of the perimeter. The use of this buggy allows safe and full access to the perimeter, without having to install any handrails.
