Personal Health MOT’s

We recognised that no matter how healthy we all are, there is always room for improvement, and the health and wellbeing of our staff is important both to the business and individuals, after all we spent a good proportion of our time at work.

We introduced personal health MOTs as part of our health and wellbeing programme, to give our employees an opportunity to get a full picture of their own health.

Our health and wellbeing advocates visited all project offices and depots, and at various times of day to cover the day-shift and the night-shift, to give everyone an opportunity to attend during working hours.

Health mentors were in attendance to provide advice on general wellbeing, areas to improve, exercise and any wider health concerns, with each individual employee offered advice on their MOT results.

The MOT included tests for:

  • Body fat percentage and visceral fat rating;
  • Fat free mass and muscle mass;
  • Total body water and body water percentage;
  • Bone mass;
  • Basal metabolic rate and metabolic age;
  • Body mass index;
  • Impedance;
  • Blood pressure;
  • Resting heart rate.

Follow-up sessions enabled individual employees to gauge the effects of any changes they may had made in their lifestyle.
