We have recently introduced personal photographs to our team organograms. This has enabled staff to become more familiar with colleagues across the business and aid communication across teams avoiding that embarrassing situation where you have forgotten someone’s name.
The picture organograms are updated and published monthly by e-mail, on the intranet and displayed in our ‘people areas’ around the site. This contributes to our targets to Value our Workforce.
As an added benefit, on the team organograms we have included a section dedicated to identifying which staff represent the teams on the various cross industry forums including our Investors in Diversity team, Considerate Constructors team, Employee Forum Reps and Safety Reps. This allows staff to quickly reference who to talk to should they have a particular concern or idea in a particular area.
The new picture organograms are also a massive aid to new staff and temporary staff, helping them to quickly assimilate into the business. Visiting clients and stakeholders can also quickly see who to look for whilst visiting the sites/ depots.
We have already received positive feedback from staff on this new innovation with one Supervisor commenting that the new organograms are “one of the best ideas in a long time”.
