Power Purchase Agreement
The Power Purchase Agreement is one of the first of its kind for construction in the UK and will enable the contractor to procure green, sustainable electricity directly from a dedicated renewable energy producer.
The additionality clause ensures that the purchase of renewable electricity leads to the construction of a new solar energy farm farm, which will provide power to all UK sites at a supply of 10GWh per year.
Having a dedicated renewable energy farm to directly provide power to UK operations will significantly decrease the contractors Scope 2 carbon emissions and help decarbonise the National Grid in line with climate change policy targets.
