In the infancy of the HPC Project, we have temporary buildings containing multiple storey’s, where the feasibility of installing lifts would not be seen as economically viable.
Somerset Larder our catering contract partner have implemented a short term programme to address the risks associated with transferring goods across various levels in the building.
Having considered the hazards associated with accessing stairwells, Somerset Larder spent time exploring the market place for a mechanical solution which would seek to reduce the risks associated with manual handling, helping HPC to achieve its goal of Zero Harm.
The SC380 was trialled and finally chosen for its wide baseplate, increased load capability, additional braking wheels for safety and overall for its robustness for the construction site.
All staff have been trained in the safe use of the equipment.
