Precast Concrete Grouting Station

The project team have developed a grouting station which practically eliminates manual handling associated with grouting works.

The station comprises of a hydraulic pallet lifter, a roller table, electric grout mixer, water cube and bowser and electric grout pump.

Pallets of grout are loaded on to the pallet lifter which ensures the top bag on the pallet is at the level of the roller table.

Grout bags are easily pushed along the roller table and, once split, poured straight in to the mixer. The water is pumped in from the bowser and then the grout is pumped to where it is needed through a hose. At peak, the team were using 200 bags of grout a day which would mean a significant amount of manual handling

This simple solution has been developed by the project team which combines multiple pieces of plant and equipment to form a complete solution suitable for the needs of the team and the site.

This approach could have a wider industry benefit to reduce manual handling and the risk of longer term health risks to the workforce.
