During building on the HLR Schools Project, constructing 7 new schools and demolishing existing sites, Interserve sought an opportunity to support young people with a Prince’s Trust “Get into Construction” programme.
The Prince’s Trust run programmes for 16 – 25 year old unemployed people across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire with Interserve providing support with introductions, site tours, employability sessions, mock interviews and work placements.
Interserve worked with their local supply chain to provide 2 week work placements with 70% of these turning into apprenticeship or paid work opportunities.
Interserve’s community manager, Hannah Fehr said:
“We were so delighted to be able to help support young people into employment that simply needed an opportunity to get into work.”
