This contractor have used a vacuum lifter which avoids the needs for manual handling when kerbing. This eliminates any risk to the workforce in terms of back strain and injury as well as reducing time constraints, increasing productivity.
This reduces people plant interface on site, which is highly advantageous in the narrow working areas, improves productivity and reduces carbon emissions.
Mostly kerb stones are installed on one side of the road, whilst on the other side vehicles are still allowed to drive as this system never reaches into the traffic area.
