Project Fun Facts

The Ballymore team at the Wardian site was looking at ways to engage the workforce and make them feel part of the team and proud of what they are building.

We thought that we could achieve that by fostering curiosity and making them aware of what they were building, so we produced some fun facts and infographics about the project.

The infographics compare a number of project specific aspects with more intuitive metrics, such as:

  • Km of reinforcing steel used in the building vs distance to known cities in Europe
  • Km of cables used in the building vs distance to known cities in Europe
  • Water used to date vs capacity of Wardian swimming pool
  • Velocity of the air supplied in the building vs DLR trains’ speed or Usain Bolt’s speed
  • Volume of air supplied in the building vs number of balloons that could be blown up.

The infographics are displayed in the site accommodation so that both workers and visitors can see them, and they are also included in the newsletters to our neighbours.

The fun facts have been positively welcomed and they have been used for marketing and sales purposes as well.
