Protecting Nature On Site

Balfour Beatty have been working with ecology specialist Nevis Environmental to develop a case study on the range of mitigation works which have been completed in advance of the project start at the Badenoch & Strathspey Community hospital project in Aviemore and which continue to be implemented through project delivery.

Works has included translocation of 76 lizards to a newly created protected zone on boundary of site, creation of a bee bank and the replanting of 400 new native trees.

In addition to the case study, staff have created a poster which is displayed within the welfare areas and on the community information board to share awareness of the lizards which have been relocated to the protected zone on boundary of site.
