Protecting staff working near overhead cables

Measures to safeguard the workforce when working relatively near live overhead cables in Electro Potential Zones (EPZ) have been implemented on this site.

These measures include the introduction of a lightweight metal barrier, successfully trialled with the insulated matting supplier.

It has been used to replace the bulkier plastic crowd barriers and adapted to fit cones. It has created an improved working and walkway space, it is much less likely to blow over in the exposed terrain, and it provides a safer demarcation line with the EPZ.
