Providing safe access to construction floors through precast concrete staircases with handrails

Ensuring the safety of operatives is of paramount importance on all sites.

See the example below for how one site addressed this:

  • Design changes were carried out to stairwell walls within apartment blocks which allowed for the installation of precast concrete staircases fitted with permanent handrails to be erected.
  • This provided immediate progressive safe access to construct floors above without the need of scaffolding and temporary side protection.
