Providing Tuberculosis Screening Sessions for Operatives

Ensuring the health and wellbeing of your workforce is essential.

Providing opportunities for workers to check and maintain their health should be sought and established.

Below is an example of how a site identified that Tuberculosis in London is one of the highest in Europe and responded to this information by introducing mobile screening:

  • Following an awareness presentation on Tuberculosis by the University College London NHS, the team implemented a roadside screening session in the form of digital chest radiology for the on-site workforce;
  • A NHS mobile screening unit record was also set up for persons checked within their normal shift;
  • 364 individuals were screened and onward care was provided for 3 needing further non-urgent investigation.
