QR Code Armband for Works Permit

A new Permit to Works QR armband system was created by the project team, and is now being adopted by other sites as a result.

Red bands are issued for hot works permits, blue bands for ladder permits and green bands for AWNES/Permits to Break Ground.

The coloured armband system makes it easy to identify if a permit has been issued to someone, but the QR codes are also directly linked to the permits on BIM360 Field and a simple scan of the code allows any supervisors/managers/safety advisors to ensure permits are properly complete and signed by all parties.

This system has further benefits as operatives don’t have to carry around sheets of paper on a site which is exposed to elements and is a great way to utilise BIM 360 and minimise the excessive paper trails created on projects.
