QR Coded Useful Information

As everyone is well aware by now, the need to reduce unnecessary contact remains high while working on site due to the ongoing coronavirus health risks. In an effort to maintain a high level of construction site safety for all subcontractors and operatives in terms of the induction process, toolbox talk delivery, and general on site safety, it has been arranged for forms, training and useful information to be made available for subcontractors and operatives to download themselves.

By providing a platform where site supervisors can access the information themselves, it almost eliminates the need for people to be dropping into the site office, cross contamination between people, and also reduces paper consumption in the process. By making information available via QR code, the subcontractor supervisor can be linked to the induction form for example, send this to the new operatives coming to site to complete themselves and email across to the SHEQ Advisor on site to file away so there is no additional contact with anyone!

We have also included some ‘Useful Information’ such as internet safety, financial advice, beginners guides to internet banking, and advice on stop smoking. The thought is that although most posters are informative, the QR codes will hopefully spark more interest and draw more people’s attention to the information.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
