Qualis Flow Automated Sustainability Data Monitoring Software

On Mace’s Woolwich Creative District project the team have implemented ‘Qualis Flow’ software to monitor key project sustainability data.

The automated software is operated via traffic marshals using a mobile app, who scan all delivery tickets and waste transfer notes as soon as they are delivered or removed to/from site. This monitors compliance with Mace, client and BREEAM sustainability targets such as material certifications (FSC, BES6001 and ISO14001), waste transfer notes (Environment Agency compliance checks) and carbon emissions data (embodied carbon of materials and fuel data).

This real time data is stored and non-compliance notifications are sent to relevant users within a couple of hours to action, whilst capturing extremely valuable data.

This automated software provides the following benefits:

• Increased certainty of carbon data – actual material use and volumes can be verified, providing accurate embodied carbon data for Whole Life Carbon Assessments, which can often be challenging to verify.
• Bespoke sustainability target tracking – tailored targets can be set up to monitor specific material procurement targets e.g. BES6001 plasterboard suppliers.
• Early identification of non-compliance issues – rather than these issues being picked up in sustainability reviews often undertaken a month after the transaction, the software means there is no lag time and issues can be closed out before materials are installed, saving costs for re-installation and removing non-compliant materials as waste, in addition to time spent by staff checking tickets.
• No additional paperwork – the digital software ensures there is no additional paperwork created.
