Raising Awareness of Prostate Cancer
At the moment, men make up almost 90% of the construction industry workforce. Therefore, it could be useful to cover male dominated health topics such as Prostate Cancer.
Prostate Cancer UK is the leading UK charity for men with prostate cancer and prostate problems and helps to raise awareness of the disease.
A number of sites have raised awareness of this by doing the following:
- A person who had experienced prostate cancer and worked for a national charity, delivered an informative talk which included information on symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the cancer;
- A representative from the charity attended site to host presentations and discussion forums, to small groups of operatives;
- Male members of staff took part in Movember, to help raise money and awareness.
- Get involved in the Men United initiative, which aims to inspire men to stand together and support eachother to fight prostate cancer.
