Recycling Targets and Timber Recycling

The Circle Project was set a target of 100% waste diversion from landfill.

We employed GoGreen to manage the waste collection and disposal, and the project currently achieves 99.3% recycled with 0.7% recovered via waste to energy.

The project also approached a local enterprise, Jericho Wood Recycling, which is part of the Community Wood Recycling Scheme. Through this scheme, we have managed to recycle 60 tonnes of timber. Jericho Wood Recycling is a social enterprise set up to reclaim, re-use and recycle wood to provide good quality reclaimed timber, wooden furniture and firewood for sale to the people of Birmingham and beyond at a great price. As one of the Jericho Foundation’s social enterprises, they do this whilst providing opportunities for apprenticeships, volunteering and training in the local community.
