Regular Workshops for the Workforce

Opportunities should be provided for those who aspire to work within the industry.

A variety of routes through which people can develop their skills should be provided, to invest in the workforce and to help attract young people to a career in the construction industry.

Below is an example of how a site used regular workshops to invest in their workforce:

  • Regular timed workshops were introduced to help personnel improve literacy and numeracy and help with CV writing, along with a First Aid training course;
  • The First Aid workshops were divided into two parts:
  1. Practical scenarios and CPR with ‘resuscitation Annie’ (a medical mannequin).
  2. Online practice with first aid training course and quizzes so individuals could monitor their progress.
