Repurposing Waste Materials

The client had specified using plastic manufactured bat boxes upon this project.

However when demolishing the nortlights on Berrows House, they realised there was a lot of hardwood (Cherry wood) being removed.

They therefore came up with the solution to repurpose the wood to make Kent bat boxes in lieu of purchasing plastic ones.

Upon presenting the idea and a mocked up hardwood bat box to their client, they were delighted with the solution and requested that we create more to be used on various university buildings throughout the city.
