Respecting the community by volunteering

Being considerate, courteous and respectful is all part of respecting the community, this now comes as part of the high standards we promote in being part of the Scheme.

Our main area of thought within this part of the code is “What can we do to be better neighbours, What can we do to help” and in doing so, promote the positive side of the industry and give something back that will last long after we have gone.

We set out for 14 operatives, myself and the client to volunteer with the Canal and River Trust who are our closest and immediate neighbours.

During this full day we fully replaced the bridge handrails, painted fencing, cut back trees and weeds, which was of great benefit to the trust, the boating community and also many local people who use the tow path.
