Roof Felt Removal Methodology

During the removal of existing hot melt on the level 5 roof slab, the structures contractor utilised full face respirators, robust water suppression and jackhammer tools for the existing roof waterproofing removal.

The use of the jack hammer trolley was chosen over the previously used floor scabblers as the trolley produced less dust and reduced HAVS exposure to the working operatives (in comparison to the traditional floor trolley scabbling machinery).

The jackhammer tools are commonly used for floor tile removal but the site team at utilised the machinery to limit occupational health hazards to the workforce.
