Safe Resident Access Points

When undertaking surfacing works on existing roads it is often necessary to block off service roads serving residential areas, allowing only residents access and preventing existing road users using these as ‘rat runs’ to bypass the works.

Normally, a vehicle is parked across the road or pedestrian barrier placed across the road, which can take time to move to allow residents access to their properties.

It was felt that a more professional and user-friendly approach was required, and a manufacturer was identified that could provide a robust, temporary drop-down vehicle barrier. This barrier can be moved into position by a forklift and operated by a single operative.
