Safe Walkway Route

The safety of workers, visitors and the public on and around any construction site is vitally important.

A shielded ‘green route’ walkway was installed, to enable pedestrians to walk safely and stay protected from the heavy construction traffic.

The ‘green route’ ran from the welfare facilities to the construction site and PPE was not required on this route.

The route continued around the entire site to maximise safety and was lined with fences and red/ white plastic barriers to ensure clear visibility.

There were a few spots without barriers, for example where there was a crossing and these are trimmed with red gates and warning signs.
