Safer Scaffolding

Ease of accessibility can improve site safety.

Working on scaffolding has a multitude of risks, therefore any efforts to increase the safety whilst working on this platform such as accessibility and maneuverability are welcome.

The example below shows how one site achieved this:

  • Use of “scaff gap” infill strips to fill gaps between scaffolding boards where standards prevent boards from butting up to each other;
  • This levels out the scaffolding, reduces movement of boards and fills up any potential holes.
