Safety Journey

Due to the volume safety information required these day’s it is easy to understand why people feel overwhelmed with what is on display, and subsequently don’t absorb the key messages. To counter this we created the ‘Safety Journey’.

Once site staff enter through the security turnstile they are confronted by a chicane of hoardings each displaying one key safety message. Due to the nature of the chicane people must pay attention when navigating through and subsequently take on board the key safety messages. Many external visitors, as well as site staff have acknowledged the benefit of this and have never experience this before.

We have had, and continue to receive many positive messages about the Safety Journey and it has undoubtedly improved the behavioral safety culture on site.

These hoarding included all of the following:

  • Robertson Safety Statement
  • Secure Site Entry
  • Traffic & Fire Plans
  • Person Responsible for Safety is…
  • Mirror & Daily Hazard Board
  • Daily Hazard Board
  • Robertson Accident Man – Monthly Regional H&S States displayed to show injury trends.
  • Final Board – Key Safety Info.
  • Key Site Safety Reminders
  • Topical Section – Hot Weather Working
