Safety Representatives

Site management have implemented a strategy on site to ensure safety is upheld to the highest on all three blocks being constructed, by having one charge hand and safety representative responsible for each block.

By implementing safety representatives in each block, we hope to reduce the risk of work related injuries and ill health. This will be done by making the safety reps responsible for:

• Ensure everyone on their block has been inducted.
• Ensure operatives PPE is suitable for their tasks and that the condition of PPE is maintained.
• Ensure everyone is completing necessary inspections in their block.
• Ensuring everyone is following the safe system of work.
• Ensure any behavioral issues are identified and dealt with.
• Communication resource between site and project manager.
• Ensuring all walkways are pedestrian routes are maintained throughout the building.
• Ensure all edge protection and working at height controls are in place and monitored.
• Ensuring that work areas are suitable and prepared for upcoming tasks.
• Attend daily safe start briefings.
• Will be responsible for reporting accidents and assisting members of the safety team on visits.
• Ensuring adequate first aid provisions.

By implementing a safety person on each block we hope this encourages a safe working culture across the team and we look to eventually have this strategy as a standard throughout the group for RC frames.
