Screened walkway to allow staff to safely cross a busy road

Specific local road safety issues should be identified, considered and communicated to ensure that operatives, pedestrians and cyclists remain vigilant and safe.

One site carried out a risk assessment and found that the busy main road was a potential risk to the workforce trying to cross.

As a result, a screened walkway was built which allowed site workers from OV-SAAL Zuidtak East to safely cross over the busy road.

Traffic was still able to drive through unhindered and the sheeting hides crossing site workers, which ensures motorists are not distracted by them.
