SEATS Training

At Wates, it is a minimum requirement that all supervisors on site are SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) trained.

This course is site safety plus accredited and covers the environmental aspects of the CITB health, safety and environmental test and help to raise awareness of the issues encountered by many construction sites.

To assist our supply chain in this training we discount the price on a national rate for them, and hold it across the country on 17 different dates!

By ensuring all supervisors are SEATS trained they in turn are able to communicate what they have learnt through to their operatives via verbal communication, posters, displays and toolbox talks.

This creates a site team who are fully aware and considerate of the environmental implications of the work that is taking place on site and the impact it has to the local environment, local communities and surrounding wildlife.

This course delivers environmental knowledge for the sub-contract chain including:

  • Best practice techniques;
  • The environment and why it matters;
  • Environmental management systems;
  • Waste management;
  • How to be a good neighbour: statutory nuisance, communication;
  • Archaeology and heritage;
  • Energy and resources;
  • Being a responsible contractor.
