Segregation of Plant and Pedestrians

Access to our site is restricted as the new building footprint takes up the whole of the road elevation. As such, we have devised a system whereby vehicles entering site are totally segregated from operatives.

We have an online delivery booking-in system which must be used by our subcontractors. Once the delivery has been approved, it is allowed onto site. A delivery will turn up to site and be greeted by our lead traffic marshal. The driver receives a delivery driver induction prior to entering site.

The lead traffic marshal radios the other traffic marshals who are working on the site to inform them that there is a vehicle entering. The radio communication triggers the closure of the pedestrian walkway across the haul road and the opening of the barriers across the site haul road.
