Sensitivity towards the local community

Sites should aim to become a temporary member of the local community in which they are working.

Awareness and consideration regarding local residents and businesses is important to ensure that operatives are sensitive to the local needs and that good channels of communication are created.

Below is an example of how a site showed support and sensitivity towards the local community:

  • After hearing that a rower at the local rowing club had died after a heart attack, the site donated six places for club delegates on a company training course about using defibrillators.
