Setting Out Directly From 3D Model

On this project they have started implementing setting out directly from 3D models, as opposed to 2D paper drawings.

They have altered their setting out workflow to allow for 3D models to be incorporated into the setting out process. The 3D files are imported directly into the setting out instrument, so points and lines are extracted directly from the model saved on the instrument and set out on site.

This allows them to reduce the time for design development and drawings production and significantly reduce human error as well as  reduces cost associated with drawings production and design prolongation.
