Sharing the aims and achievements of the industry with younger generations

The aims and achievements of the industry and the Considerate Constructors Scheme should be promoted and shared.

It is important to share positive news with the public, to demonstrate the considerate nature of the construction industry.

Below is an example of how sites have promoted the industry, to encourage children to consider a career in construction:

  • The Scheme Monitor was interviewed in the site office by a group of four primary school children as part of a mini project;
  • The project was focused on the Scheme’s work in the UK and the duties and accreditation of the Scheme Monitors.

This was part of a larger initiative to understand how construction projects are run and develop.

The children shared their findings from the interviews with their class and parents via the school newsletter.
