Sikh volunteers building Birmingham school

Diversity and inclusion within the workforce should be acknowledged and supported.

One site building a Sikh school supported Sikh volunteers to work on the site by doing the following:

  • Sikh volunteers were shown how to do some of the work and given advice on how to improve the work they had done if necessary;
  • The site manager gave a health and safety briefing to make sure all the volunteers were fully aware;
  • Volunteers were supported to get CSCS cards so they can work on the site.
